Common Mazda Faults:
Mazdas can have various issues including, but not limited to:
- Computer Failure
- Engine Failure
- Transmission Failure
The first step in diagnosing an issue is to contact Parrotta’s Auto Service at (413) 786-0959 for a professional and helpful diagnosis. Dashboard display issues typically occur in vehicles over 100,000 miles and cause a darkening of the car's dashboard display. This can cause the most problems in the dark because it makes the dashboard display unreadable, including the odometer, climate controls, and radio.
Transmission Failure: In both the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda3, a known issue is transmission failure. Typically happens between 70,000 miles and 90,000 miles at the earliest, often later.
Computer Failure (PCM): This issue typically occurs in the Mazda CX-5 around 100,000 miles and higher in the 2013 – 2021 years.
Engine Failure: This is often seen in the Mazda3 from 2010 – 2020, around 80,000 miles and higher.

If the water pump fails, there can be even more damage ahead to the timing belt and other engine internal parts. The timing belt and water pump MUST be inspected regularly. Rubber parts such as the oil filler cap and valve cover gaskets deteriorate after about 120k miles, so they will both begin to leak. If the leaking becomes excessive, the oil will drip onto the exhaust system and create smoke and a potential for fire.
WE SERVICE AND REPAIR THESE MAZDA MODELS AND MORE:
CX-5, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-9, MX-5 Miata, CX-30 and more.

Personal driving preferences
Being aware of your personal driving style can help you adjust for better vehicle performance. For example, if you’re an “aggressive” driver who rapidly accelerates, brakes hard or often, and often speeds your brakes may wear more quickly and your fuel-efficiency might suffer. If you drive more gently by driving the speed limit, accelerating at a slower pace, etc. you’ll experience better fuel efficiency and less wear on components overall. If you often drive on bumpy dirt or rough roads your suspension might be more likely to wear as compared to smooth roads. Regular maintenance and inspection of components with heavy wear will help extend the life of your vehicle.
Mazda Repair Specialists
Parrotta’s Auto Service has factory access to Mazda parts to make sure that we are only using OE level parts to service your Mazda. We use upgraded parts to prevent you from having the same issue again, like using a water pump with a metal impeller instead of the plastic one your vehicle came with out of the factory. Because of the high level of technicians that we have and the quality of the parts we use, we back up all of our Mazda repairs with a 2 year/ 24,000 mile warranty; two times longer than the Mazda Dealer!
Parrotta’s Auto Service is known for its high level of customer service, beautiful waiting room, clean bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, shuttle service, and our fair prices. We know all of this is very important to you, but we also know how important it is that we fix your Mazda correctly the first time!
